Prepare:

If your dog is not a fan of getting bathed, it is imperative to be as efficient as possible. Dress appropriately:

Even while bathing, many dogs shake water off their coats, so you’ll probably be drenched during your pet’s bath. Dress properly in waterproof clothing and use rubber-soled shoes to avoid slipping on the wet floor. We do have rubber mats at our facilities, but you can never be too careful.

Wet your dog:

After your dog has entered the bathing zone, wet them down with the water pressure from the hose that is comfortable for them. You can adjust this by how hard you squeeze the lever on the hose. Avoid spraying your pet in the face and using water that’s been too forcefully squirted from a nozzle. Cover their nose, mouth, eyes, and ears before applying water or soap to their face. When any of those areas get plastered with water it will not be a good experience for them.

Lather up:

To make a cleaning lather, use one of our many selections of shampoo and flea and tick treatment. Do not allow the shampoo to enter your dog’s eyes or ears, and avoid allowing them to swallow up soapy water because it could upset their stomach. After the application process, use both hands and act like you’re giving your big dog a massage or a bunch of fun rubbing pets. The more you talk to them during the entire process, the more they will enjoy it.

Rinse off the shampoo:

You should rinse your dog thoroughly once he or she is clean. Shampoo residue might cause your dog’s skin to become itchy and dry, so be sure to rinse it all off thoroughly.

Dry off your dog:

After you’re done rinsing them, bring a towel to wrap around your dog to start the drying process. Use our hairdryer hose to thoroughly dry your big dog’s coat. This step is very important because letting your dog’s fur air dry can damage their coat and skin.
